Arriving at Munich Airport with Skis: Terminals, Baggage and Meeting Your Driver

Munich Airport is big but easy to navigate. A few practical points make your arrival with skis and snowboards much smoother.

Terminal 1 or Terminal 2?

Munich Airport has two terminals. Lufthansa and its Star Alliance partners use Terminal 2; most other airlines, including many holiday and low-cost flights, use Terminal 1. Your airline app or booking shows your terminal – add your flight number when you book a transfer so the driver waits in the right hall.

Collecting skis and snowboards

Ski and snowboard bags usually arrive at a separate oversize-baggage belt or counter near the normal belts, and they can take a little longer than suitcases. No problem – your driver follows your landing time and waits.

Meeting your driver

Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign and contacts you before your flight by phone or WhatsApp. If you can’t see them straight away, call or message the number in your booking confirmation.
